3 Simple Habits To Generate a Healthier, Happier You!

Oh happiness… something we all strive for but think is always on the other side of something we haven’t quite gotten yet. I’ll be happier when I have my dream job, perfect relationship, when I earn X amount per month, the list goes on. But the real secret to unlocking the sometimes ‘fleeting’ emotion of happiness, is learning to live in the present moment, and ultimately mastering the way you think. All sound a little far out? Don’t stress, below are three really simple habits that you can start implementing a little bit at a time… 🙂

Take care of your body
Find a form of exercise that you really enjoy, and make space for it at least three times a week. This could be a walk in your local park, a yoga class, hikes, fitness classes, anything that you love doing! Also remember to feed your body yummy, nutritious & healthy food because when you eat well, you feel great just by knowing that you’re taking care of your body!

Cultivate gratitude
It’s amazing how much you can take for granted when you’re only focusing on what’s not quite right in your life. Before you go to bed, name three things that you’re grateful for today. This could be a message from a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, or even just making it to work on time. The more focus you put on the things you’re grateful for, the more you’ll attract into your life.

Take time out
We strive for perfection at the expense of our own health & well-being. We fall victim to the art of workaholism and forget that we need a break every now and again. Our health is what enables us to accomplish everything in life, therefore it should be a priority to take care of it. Try assigning one day a week to replenishing yourself. Whether this is doing nothing all day, or going to watch that movie you’ve been wanting to see for a while!
